Guest Artists and Speakers: Kate Sirluck
Dr. Katherine Sirluck completed her B.A. and M.A. degrees in English Literature at the University of Toronto, and her doctorate at King's College, University of London. She has published on Marlowe and Shakespeare, and specializes in literature of the Early Renaissance. She has scholarly interests in feminism, psychoanalytic theory, and cultural history. She has a chapter on the Russian novelist Mikhail Bulgakov coming out next week in a book published by Continuum Press entitled: 20th Century Representations of Jesus in Art, Literature, and Film. She has been teaching at UBC for 25 years, and is currently working on a book on Shakespeare and child-rearing in the Early Modern Period: So Kind A Father.
