From May 22-June 28th the air in Vancouver will shimmer with the sounds of words fused to music at the SONGFIRE Festival of Song. Some of our city’s great music collectives are participating, featuring renowned Vancouver artists and international guests. Experience City Opera’s innovative pairing of 15th-century Japanese drama with 20th-century opera and dance; Turning Point Ensemble’s bold merging of music, theatre, dance and technology; Erato Ensemble’s re-creation of a turn-of-the-century Paris Salon; the choral harmonies of Chor Leoni, Electra, Phoenix Chamber Choir and the Lyric Singers; world premieres at the TransCanada Songbook curated by Music on Main; and the creative explosion of song, theatre and learning from Vancouver International Institute of Song (VISI).
