MASTERCLASSES AND LECTURES

Expand your understanding of the rich art and craft of Art Song Interpretation and Performance. VISI has daily lectures spanning topics in poetry, cultural history, philosophy, collaborative practices, and song musicology.
Every afternoon VISI holds masterclasses that include repertoire tied into the lecture series. Observing technical and artistic processes through the teachings of the distinguished VISI faculty is a wonderful way to build your appreciation of song interpretation and performance. Support emerging artists as they work toward realization of powerful performances – your presence assists their development of expressive skills.

The 2010 program will include studies in Romanticism and its Song Legacy, Surrealism and French Mélodie, and the songs of Samuel Barber.

The full Schedule of classes will be posted in early May. Drop-in rates are available on a morning, afternoon, or daily basis; a full VISI pass will give you access to all sessions from June 7-23.
