New Triad for Collaborative Arts

New Triad @ VISI June 6-14, 2010

New Triad for Collaborative Arts looks forward to its first official residency in collaboration with the other inspiring programs of Vancouver International Song Institute. New Triad faculty members who will be offering master classes and coachings include New Triad’s Founder and Artistic Director, Dr. Arlene Shrut and one of classical music’s most gifted young pianists, concert programmers and lecturers, Adam Marks.

New Triad is a non-profit educational and service organization founded in 2002 to provide classical musicians with innovative performance skills that lead to more accessible concerts. New Triad’s interdisciplinary training helps artists dramatically increase their expressiveness and visual impact of their performances.

Below are listed the two lead classes that New Triad will present, and follow up with private coachings, to support VISI participants in strengthening their presentation skills:

The Elizabeth & Michel Sorel Charitable Organization Inc., established in 1996 by their daughter, Claudette Sorel, is a 501(c)(3) private foundation. Ms. Sorel was a child piano prodigy. She is the youngest graduate of The Juilliard School completing her degree at age 9. Our mission is to keep musical excellence alive and to help stretch the boundaries for women in music.

Musical Dynamics of Partnership – Arlene Shrut The goal is mastering the musical and partnership skills leading to powerful performances of song. These include clarifying the message of musical works, practicing inventively as a musical team and strengthening the awareness of art song recitals as chamber music.

Speaking with Your Audience – Adam Marks Speaking comfortably with an audience requires tapping into your confidence both as a person and as a performer. By exploring what to say and when to say it, performers will create more individualized performances while constructing a more comfortable and supportive atmosphere for shared musical exploration.

At VISI, 2010, Adam Marks will be in residence from June 6-8, and Arlene Shrut from June 6-14.
