Professional Development Stream: Pedagogical Studies
Program for teachers of voice and teachers of collaborative piano, whose repertoire includes classical song interpretation.The poetry of art song reaches into the realm of philosophy, and its pedagogy reaches into the realm of psychology. This course will both enlarge and deepen your possibilities for innovative teaching.
- Participate in private seminars with renowned artists, discussion
groups focusing on interpretive pedagogy, as well as access to most
lectures and master classes in all streams.

PLEASE NOTE: this schedule is in effect for June 18-22, and June 25,26. Opening day, weekend, and Closing day have different configurations, to accommodate variables in the content, Sunday worship, final-day rehearsals and early concert time, Peter Wall lecture, etc. Schedule subject to change without notice.
Logistics and Pricing
Participants may register for the entire event, or select a self-designed flex-schedule to accommodate individual interests and needs.

Package - full 11 days - $980*
(includes lectures, master classes, noon and evening concerts) - Flex Pass - $100* per day (receive a 20%
discount on day 6 through 11)
Customize your own ‘VISI Vacation’ to suit your schedule from one-day drop-in or multi-day packages (includes lectures, master classes and noon and evening performances) - Half-Day Sessions:
Morning - $30* (includes 1 lecture and noon concert)
Afternoon - $50* (includes 2 lectures and master class)
Special Opening Day lectures package - $35* - VISI a la carte lecture menu:
If you just want to drop-in for one or two lectures in a day and then tag on a concert when you can, consider the VISI a la carte menu:
Lecture #1 (10 am) - $20*
Lecture #2 (after noon-hour concert - 1:15 pm) - $20*
Master Class (3 pm) - $20*
Lecture #3 (after the master class, usually 5 pm) - $10*

Passes for the Listeners and Pedagogy Studies may be purchased prior to the event or at the door (space permitting). If events are sold out in advance, notice will be posted on the VISI website.
All fees are listed in Canadian dollars. Please contact the Registrar in regards to US dollar rates.
NATS – Vancouver Chapter members who sign up for a Flex Pass or Full Festival Pass will have 15% of their tuition fee donated by VISI to the NATS-Vancouver Chapter scholarship fund, to support singers in their ongoing training.

Enrolment in this study stream will be accepted, up to and during the event. However, early registration is encouraged, as space is limited. In order to reserve your space, your application and fees must be received by June 10th, 2007. If this is not possible, please contact the VISI Registrar.
